A seed was sown when we felt the responsibility of developing a good infrastructure of cricket academy in Nepal with a common connection, being Nepali cricketers, decided to do something for this upcoming cricketing nation in Asia. Since few years the cricket craze and awareness in Nepal has been mounting high. Our Nepalese cricketers have been fairly successful in bringing laurels for our nation at regular intervals and at various levels.

Shangri-La cricket academy is owned and managed by our own Nepali cricketers, Aamir Akhtar and Birendra Shah. Their details are mentioned below under coaches and management.

Having been through at junior and U-19 levels for Nepal right from playing the Youth world cup in 2000 and later playing for the senior Nepal team, we strongly felt the need of developing grass root level cricket in Nepal. The whole idea germinated with the experience of playing cricket all over and sprouted into what is now called Shangri-La Cricket Academy. (SCA)

Our key focus area is to nurture the school/college/University cricket development along with the introduction of women’s and corporate cricket in Nepal as well. Hence we are focussing on all the categories needed to develop the cricket infrastructure in Nepal.

Shangri-la cricket academy is well recognised by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Moreover we shall also be inviting the national selectors from CAN and sports council of Nepal to watch our academy players for any age group competitions.
